Featured Project – Padilla Designs Stage Design at TEDxMaui 2013

Padilla Designs would like to welcome you to another installment of  our blog “Featured Projects“. This week we would like to look back on our collaboration with TEDxMaui in 2013.

TED is a globally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to “ideas worth spreading” through annual speaker events that inspire millions. TED licenses its brand to local communities looking to bring similar events into their own locales, supporting independent organizers and individuals with the most innovative and inspiring minds to share their ideas and their stories with their community. TEDxMaui was founded in 2011 to create this environment where communities can come together to broaden understanding and knowledge, leaving inspired to make a difference in their own lives as well as others.

Padilla Designs gladly accepted the opportunity to create a beautiful stage backdrop for TEDxMaui 2013, held at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center, proudly building and donating sculpted “mountains” made of aluminum sheets shaped and pounded to resemble the west Maui mountain range, along with several ocean waves and a setting sun. Finished with colored patina to give life to the artwork, and dimension to the mountains, this stage backdrop was truly one-of-a-kind. Not only did the stage look beautiful, but the backdrop provided dimension and color for the videos that were distributed after the event. This was truly an amazing event with so many inspiring talks – you can view the video of each guest speaker for free at TEDxMaui.com.
